About ConvertEase

Why we built it

Converting a file shouldn't mean uploading every personal photo or video to a stranger's server. ConvertEase keeps media conversion on your iPhone wherever iOS makes that possible, and tells you plainly when a file has to go to our server instead.

What the app does

• Images: convert to JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP or TIFF (HEIC and WEBP files can be opened and converted).
• Video: convert between MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI and 3GP.
• Audio: convert to M4A, WAV or AAC.
• Documents: convert between Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, RTF, TXT, HTML and ODT.
• Compression: shrink images, videos, audio, PDFs and Office files.
• ZIP: create ZIP files and extract them, including password-protected ZIPs.

What it doesn't do (yet): MP3 output, PDF merge or split, image → PDF, WEBP output, RAR or 7z. For MP3 and PDF jobs, use the free web tools below.

Pricing: the app is free to download and has no ads. Saving converted results requires a Premium subscription (weekly, 3-month or yearly; some plans include a 3-day free trial).

What runs where

• On your iPhone: image, video and audio conversion; image, video and audio compression; ZIP create/extract. These files are not uploaded and work offline.
• On our server: document conversion (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, RTF, TXT, HTML, ODT) and PDF/Office compression. The file is uploaded for conversion and needs an internet connection. See the privacy policy for how files are handled.
• In your browser (web tools): the free tools on this website process files inside your browser; nothing is sent to our server.

Free web tools

Free, no sign-up, no watermark, no upload. Very large files depend on your device's memory.

Who makes it

ConvertEase is built and maintained by Furkan Kaya, an independent iOS developer who publishes a small portfolio of utility apps on the App Store (see all apps).
