MOV vs MP4 on iPhone

iPhone records MOV files. MOV and MP4 usually contain the same H.264 or HEVC video, but Windows, Android and many websites expect MP4. A quick free alternative: when you share a video from Photos to a Windows PC with Settings → Photos → Transfer to Mac or PC → Automatic, iOS converts it for you. Details in MOV to MP4 on iPhone.

Extracting audio

The app does not create MP3 files. To get an MP3 from a video, use the free MP4 to MP3 converter, which runs in Safari on iPhone.
